Although Ana Radošević’s book is not voluminous, it offers a lot of valuable data on the productions of the famous evening-long ballet “The Legend of Ohrid“ composed by the eminent Serbian composer Stevan Hristić. Many important musicological articles have been written on the ballet but the view on its life on the Yugoslav stages was missing. Ana-Anika Radošević (1915–2004) who was an internationally known ballet and opera director and choreographer, undertook to research this area during the early 1980s. Besides using written material, she contacted colleagues and friends from all over the then Yugoslavia in order to gather as many recollections and other information as possible. Had she not done that, a lot of important facts would be lost by now.
