Although the topics of migration (emigration, immigration, refuge, diaspora) occupied the attention of researchers coming from the social sciences and humanities long before the second decade of the 21st century, recent socio-political crisis brought forward the existing as well as new research of the mentioned topics, as well as the need of practical work with migrants who found their new (temporary or permanent) place of living in different European countries. The initiative for starting this conversation came after the experiences of collaborators on the work package „Should I Write or Should I Act“ led by Marija Dumnić Vilotijević, PhD (within the project Applied Musicology and Ethnomusicology in Serbia: Making a Difference in Contemporary Society led by Ivana Medić, PhD). With her team, she ran a series of workshops, talks and concerts with residents of the Center for Asylum in Krnjača. Practical and theoretical knowledge acquired during the work on this project will be presented together with the knowledge and the results by colleagues coming from science, arts and activism, who were in dialogue with people in constant replacement and movement.

Moderator: Marija Maglov, PhD (Institute of Musicology SASA)

*The event is organized within the project Applied Musicology and Ethnomusicology in Serbia: Making a Difference in Contemporary Society (APPMES; бр. 7750287), supported by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia.
